National Road Master Plan (1 January 1992)

The outline law on inland transport (30 December 1982) makes it compulsory to draw up transport infrastructure master plans.
The National Road Master Plan is the long-term policy framwork for interurban road infrastructure. Every major project for an expressway more than 25 km long and, more generally, every road project for a value of at least 545 million francs must comply with this plan.
Subsequent to the outline law for land use and development (4 February 1995), this plan is being revised. It will specify the quidelines of the National Plan for Land Use and Development and will take into account the guidelines of the European Road Infrastructure Plan.
